About The Author

Sudarshan Gautam

Sudarshan Gautam is a motivational speaker, Everest summiteer, and advocate for human resilience. Born in a remote village in Nepal without hands, his early life was shaped by hardship, survival, and the constant challenge of being underestimated. Rather than surrender to circumstance, he learned to live independently using his feet, teaching himself skills that allowed him to study, work, and support his family.

Education became his foundation. Through persistence, he completed his studies, became active in student leadership, and spoke up for the rights of others. His life journey includes love, fatherhood, loss, and the difficult decision to leave his homeland in search of stability and opportunity.

After relocating to Canada, Sudarshan rebuilt his life once again, learning a new language, adapting to a new culture, and growing professionally and personally. In 2013, he returned to Nepal to fulfill a dream many believed impossible: climbing Mount Everest without hands.

Destinations that

The adventure of a
lifetime is just a click

Today, he shares his story with honesty and humility, focusing not on achievement, but on perseverance. His message is simple and powerful: no matter where you begin, forward movement is always possible.

About The Book

IM THE EVEREST

IM THE EVEREST is an inspirational memoir rooted in truth, struggle, and quiet determination. It tells the story of Sudarshan Gautam, born without hands in a remote village in Nepal, where survival was daily work and expectations were painfully small. From learning to eat, write, and study with his feet to supporting his family and pursuing education against all odds, his journey is defined by resilience rather than pity.

The book follows his path through village life, education, leadership, love, fatherhood, loss, and the difficult decision to leave Nepal for Canada in search of dignity and opportunity. Along the way, Sudarshan confronts social judgment, political instability, and personal heartbreak; never as a hero, but as a human being learning to endure.

At its core, IM THE EVEREST carries one message: limitations do not define us. Determination does. His climb of Mount Yala and later Mount Everest is not about records, they are symbols of inner mountains already conquered. This book is written for anyone who feels unseen, underestimated, or close to giving up.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
